The Macacos

The Macacos, also called ''Cumbieros'' is a group of young people in Argentina.They usually wear sport clothes,baggy trousers, baggy tops with hoods and caps.They also wear trainers (and they love them).They call them ''llantas''.The Macacos don't use make up but most of them have ver short hair and use jellwery or chains.They like the tatoos too.

Their pasion is Cumbia.Cumbia is a type of music that is played with a ''rayador'' and a specalkind of piano that the musician can carry with them like a guitar. One of the most famous cumbia-singer is ''El Polaco'', he always sings in pubs and th macacos go there ,dance,and drink all night. He is not the only one famous cumbia-singer, bands like ''Los pibes chorros'' or ''La banda de lechuga'' are very much listened to.

They spend their free time listening cumbia and dancing. They like to go out at weekends to the pubs or discos; where they drink alcohol and chat with other macacos about their lives.The macacos usually go out in the afternoon too, to hang around, to do nothing. Sometimes they get in trouble with the police beacuse they don't put up with other groups,like the floggers.They don't like them beacuse they feel they are superiors.
